Capstone Project Requirement

Beginning with the Class of 2019, which matriculates in June 2017, a capstone project will be required for graduation. Students will work in small groups under the guidance of a faculty member to develop an evidence-based manuscript based on a clinical question or topic of interest to the group. The capstone project may take the form of a review of a clinical topic, a written case study, poster presentation on a medical topic or case study, patient information brochure with background documentation, a quality improvement project, or a three-chapter research proposal. Other project ideas may be acceptable pending faculty approval. The capstone project will be incorporated throughout several courses including the Evidence Based Medicine course (PAS 5013) during the academic year.
