UF School of PA Studies hosts first alumni open house event

PA Open House 4

Students and alumni from the UF School of Physician Assistant Studies gathered for the first PA Alumni Open House event April 9. Former PA School director Wayne D. Bottom was also in attendance and shared his pride in the program’s evolution. He was especially impressed, as were alumni, with the learning environment current students have within the George T. Harrell, M.D., Medical Education Building.

Following the inaugural Wayne D. Bottom Society Brunch, alumni got a firsthand look at the Harrell Medical Education Building with a special tour led by Dr. George Sarosi of the Lou Oberndorf Experiential Learning Theatre and the Dr. Angelo and Alberta Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center. Students joined alumni for a speed-networking event, which allowed students to seek guidance and advice from alumni as they begin their last year of the PA program. The day ended with a lecture by Dr. Tiago Noguchi Machuca on ex vivo lung perfusion and lung transplantation at UF Health.
